The boutique hotel is in Mark-Viverito’s district. Soto said she was staying in the “wonderful” Bronx hotel at the recommendation of her friend, City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito.
It’s illegal to refuse a fare within the five boroughs. Soto said she plans to file a complaint with the Taxi & Limousine Commission. She added, “As someone who loves New York City, my request to everyone, especially the yellow cabs, is let’s give New York a chance. “Just because you’re going outside of Manhattan doesnt mean you’re going to a lesser place,” she said. The microwave and icemaker are in the 1st floor lobby. Surprisingly, the mini frig was very helpful. The queen bed fit fine with room to walk on either side. The batroom fixtures appeared new and very nice. My room faced the street which was great for sunlight, but a bit of noise b4 too late. My room on the top floor (3rd) was small, clean and comfortable, just what I was looking for. But the room rates for the hotel were so low still. The $60 cash deposit was a slight inconvenience, but they have ATM in the lobby ($3.00 fee) if you don't have it. The elevator looks really nice and worked well my whole stay. The inside of the hotel seems to fully refurb. The main street is about 4-5 blocks up through a older neighborhood. It is located on a street of car repair shops.
